FAQs

What’s the value to a business in the shooting sports industry?

The value lies in standardization, time savings, and reduced manual data entry. Vault only uses the fields distributors want to see, and focuses primarily on new product launches moving forward.

Will I have to log in to a dashboard to access data?

Not necessarily. Your company can leverage the API to pull data directly into your systems.

Does Vault come with a Product Information Management (PIM) tool?

Yes, Vault includes a PIM built by the Data Council, with customizable fields and tools for managing product content.

What if we already have our own product info tool?

VAULT can complement your existing tools by providing cleaner, standardized data from manufacturers, saving your team time and reducing errors.

Can we integrate Vault with our existing ERP or PIM systems?

VAULT provides an API for integration, though no prepackaged integrations exist yet due to the diversity of systems used.

Can I load historic product data or only new items going forward?

VAULT’s initial focus for manufacturers will be on new products, but manufacturers can also update existing products and those updates will be shared.

Are photos stored and accessible in VAULT?

Yes. Distributors can link to manufacturer-uploaded images and use real-time calls to access full resolution product photos.

Who manages the product information within VAULT?

Manufacturers are responsible for inputting and maintaining their own product data. The VAULT platform allows them to control who sees what and when they see it. The VAULT team can also assist with initial photo and attribute uploads, and then turning over ongoing responsibility to the manufacturer.

Will pricing updates be standardized across the platform?

That is the long-term goal. Pricing updates, new item data, and compliance info can all be standardized through VAULT.

Is inventory data included in VAULT?

No. VAULT does not manage inventory levels.

Are ATF bound book compliance fields included?

Yes. We are planning to incorporate compliance data as product attributes, easing liability concerns.

Can we manage different pricing views for manufacturers vs. distributors vs. retailers?

Yes. Pricing visibility is role-specific.

Is training or user support provided?

Yes. The Data Council team provides support and training, including reporting tools and onboarding assistance.
